Hi, I’m alana.

I’m Alana Mrugala, LPC, a licensed therapist providing therapy services for children, teens, and adults. I am licensed in Arkansas, Texas, and Missouri and offer telehealth therapy to clients located in all 3 states.

My clinical approach is rooted in bottom-up, nervous-system-informed therapies, including:

  • Polyvagal-informed therapy

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

  • Hypnotherapy (coming soon!)

  • Trauma-informed and integrative practices

Rather than focusing only on insight or coping strategies, I help clients work with how stress, trauma, and emotions live in the body. Many clients find this approach helpful when they’ve “talked about it before” but still feel activated, shut down, or stuck.

My Approach

Therapy with me is:

  • Collaborative – we move at your pace

  • Practical and experiential – not just talking, but noticing and shifting patterns as they arise

  • Grounded and respectful – your nervous system sets the tempo

Some clients come in with a specific issue they want relief from; others arrive feeling generally overwhelmed or disconnected and unsure where to start. Both are welcome here.

When appropriate, I may offer same-day or short-notice appointments, recognizing that support can be most helpful when it’s timely.

Who I Work Best With

I tend to work well with clients who:

  • Feel anxious, chronically stressed, or emotionally overloaded

  • Notice strong physical reactions to stress or past experiences

  • Want deeper regulation, not just symptom management

  • Are open to experiential or body-based approaches to therapy

If you’re curious but unsure whether this approach is right for you, a brief consultation can help us decide together.

Purpose

My practice was created to support people who feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, stress, trauma responses, or emotional overwhelm—and who want therapy that works with the nervous system, not against it.

I believe meaningful change happens when therapy feels safe, collaborative, and responsive to what your body and mind are actually experiencing in the present moment. My work is focused on helping clients reconnect with a sense of steadiness, clarity, and internal safety so that healing can unfold at a sustainable pace.
